The 110kV Becamex Substation and its connecting transmission line project has a total investment of over VND 66 billion, funded by the basic depreciation capital of the Southern Power Corporation. The project includes the newly constructed 110kV transmission line with a total length of 120 meters, consisting of two circuits supplied from the 172kV line of the Dau Tieng – Binh Duong Substation and the Minh Hung Substation (Chon Thanh District).

The substation is built according to the criteria of a remotely controlled substation, with the construction of an information and SCADA system connected to the Binh Phuoc Provincial Remote Control Center and NPC Data Center, in line with the standards of an unmanned substation.

Mr. Vien Viet Thinh, Deputy Director of the Southern Power Project Management Board under the Southern Power Corporation, stated:
“The project commenced at the end of 2020. During its implementation in 2021, the fourth wave of the COVID-19 pandemic struck, causing significant difficulties for the contractor in procuring related equipment. Today, the official energization of the 110kV Becamex Substation marks the result of the concerted efforts of the investor, contractor PCC5, and the timely support from Binh Phuoc Province.”

The 110kV Becamex Substation has five feeder bays, with one transformer of 63MVA capacity to be operated in Phase 1. The energization of the 110kV Becamex Substation holds significant importance, contributing to timely power supply for the load demand of Chon Thanh District, while also helping to prevent overloading of the 110kV Minh Hung Substation during the 2021–2025 period.

Mr. Vien Viet Thinh further noted:
“As for the second transformer, the Southern Power Project Management Board has already prepared an investment plan, but its implementation depends on the load demand of the industrial park. However, based on the proposal from Binh Phuoc Power Company, it is expected that the second transformer will be invested in 2022 and put into operation in early 2023 to meet the increasing load demand of the industrial park.”

The energization of the 63MVA transformer at the 110kV Becamex Binh Phuoc Substation will contribute to strengthening the power supply, ensuring support for residential, cultural, and social activities as well as economic development in Chon Thanh District—particularly serving the industrial development of Binh Phuoc Province.
