Development History
2005
Tracing back through time to the days of 2005, a particularly significant date—July 25—marked the birth of PCC5, officially named Power Construction Joint Stock Company No. 5.
In its early days, PCC5 faced numerous challenges and hardships. However, driven by a great ambition and unwavering passion, along with the steadfast leadership and the unified commitment of all its staff, the company has steadily grown and evolved. With resilience and determination, PCC5 has continuously developed, laying the foundation for its strong presence in Vietnam’s power infrastructure industry.
2007
In 2007, through the determination and perseverance of the company’s leadership and the skilled expertise of its construction team leaders and staff, PCC5 successfully executed the Dung Quat Refinery and Petrochemical Plant project. This marked a major breakthrough in the company's development, earning the trust of major international EPC contractors in the construction and energy sectors.
Originally valued at just over USD 1.2 million, the project’s final settlement value reached more than USD 5.8 million. Notably, this was the first project where the French EPC contractor Technip awarded PCC5 a USD 50,000 bonus for meeting critical milestones in both progress and quality—a testament to PCC5's capability and performance on the global stage.
2008
The Phong Dien 1 Wind Power Plant was launched in 2008, marking Vietnam’s first wind power project implemented using German technology. This pioneering effort signaled a major step toward the development of renewable energy in the country.
The company’s leadership devoted their full efforts to the successful execution of the project—from sub-base concrete casting, to foundation pedestal concreting, and concrete curing and maintenance. Thanks to this dedication and attention to detail, the project was completed on schedule and met all quality standards, earning the trust and confidence of the investor.
2010
In 2010, the 110kV Nam Long Underground Cable Project was launched, marking PCC5’s entry into a new and forward-looking market segment aligned with Vietnam's development trend—undergrounding 110kV to 220kV transmission lines in major cities. PCC5 was a pioneer in this field, establishing its brand identity in underground power transmission line construction.
Especially during this period, PCC5 executed the design, construction, installation, and commissioning of two 220kV GIS substations: Binh Tan and Hiep Binh Phuoc. These were the first 220kV GIS substations invested by Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation (EVNHCMC).
By successfully energizing and bringing these projects into operation with a commitment to safety, quality, and on-schedule delivery, PCC5 laid its foundation in the GIS substation construction market in Vietnam, becoming a trailblazer in high-voltage GIS installation and execution.
2011 - 2015
During this period, PCC5 continued to make its mark across a wide range of transmission line and substation projects from 110kV to 220kV, with notable examples including:

The project was completed and put into operation with a commitment to Safety – Quality – On Schedule, marking a significant milestone and a major leap in PCC5’s development journey.
2020
The company has initiated self-investment in the development of high-tech agricultural farms combined with the installation of rooftop solar power systems in Hau Giang and Kien Giang provinces. These projects not only generate stable revenue for the company but also provide consistent income for its employees, contributing to both economic and social sustainability.
From 2021 to Present
PCC5 has had to overcome numerous challenges since 2021, including the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, economic downturn, and global supply chain disruptions caused by conflict.
However, thanks to its resilience, extensive experience, and the unified determination of both the leadership team and all employees, PCC5 has successfully navigated these difficulties and delivered key national projects such as:
