EVNHCMC Installs Project Plaque for the “Renovation of the 110kV Chợ Lớn Substation”

Mr. Ngô Trọng Nghĩa – representing PCC5 – participated in the plaque installation ceremony for the project “Renovation of the 110kV Chợ Lớn Substation.”

The “Renovation of the 110kV Chợ Lớn Substation” is a Group B industrial power project with a total investment of over VND 182 billion, invested by Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation (EVNHCMC). The project commenced in June 2023 and was constructed within the premises of the existing 110kV Chợ Lớn Substation (No. 277 Minh Phụng Street, Ward 2, District 11). It was accepted and put into operation on October 23, 2024, and officially received its commemorative plaque today.

The project’s main components include the construction of a two-story building equipped with 110kV and 24kV GIS equipment, along with a computer-based control and protection system capable of remote operation.

Current State Before and After the Renovation of the 110kV Chợ Lớn Substation

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Bùi Trung Kiên – Deputy General Director of EVNHCMC – stated:

“The year 2024 is a year of acceleration and breakthrough, playing a particularly important role in achieving the goals of the 5-year socio-economic development plan for the 2021–2025 period. Despite ongoing economic challenges and difficulties in business operations, with a spirit of overcoming adversity and actively engaging in labor emulation to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnam Electricity Sector, the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 – February 3, 2025), and moving toward the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification — the drive to complete the 2024 business plan will provide a strong foundation and motivation for the Corporation to fulfill its political missions and core targets for the 2021–2025 period.”

He added that:

“The Trade Union of the Corporation has closely collaborated with management to launch many practical emulation movements, striving to excellently fulfill business and production tasks. These programs have inspired employees to enthusiastically compete every day and every hour toward the successful completion of the 2024 business plan at both unit and corporation levels.”

Also speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Đỗ Đức Hùng – Chairman of the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union – emphasized:

“The plaque installation ceremony for the ‘Renovation of the 110kV Chợ Lớn Substation’ is a deeply meaningful event to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnam Electricity Sector (December 21, 1954 – December 21, 2024). The success of this project is the result of the tireless efforts, resilience, and high sense of responsibility shown by the collective workforce, employees, and union members of EVNHCMC.”

Mr. Đỗ Đức Hùng – Chairman of the EVN Trade Union – delivered a congratulatory speech.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union and the EVNHCMC Trade Union presented certificates of merit and commendation to collectives and individuals who had demonstrated outstanding achievements during the implementation of the “Renovation of the 110kV Chợ Lớn Substation” project.

Representing PCC5, Mr. Nguyễn Ngọc Lượng and Mr. Lưu Đào were commended and awarded by Mr. Lê Văn Minh – Chairman of the EVNHCMC Trade Union – for their outstanding achievements during the implementation of the “Renovation of the 110kV Chợ Lớn Substation” project.
