Contract Signing Ceremony for Package CPC-CangQuyNhon-PC01
On May 23, 2023, at the headquarters of the Central Vietnam Rural Electrification Project Management Board (CPCCREB), a contract signing ceremony was held for Package CPC-CangQuyNhon-PC01 between CPCCREB and Power Engineering Consulting and Construction Joint Stock Company No. 5 (PCC5).

The 110kV Quy Nhon Port Substation and Connection Project was approved by Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) under Decision No. 728/QĐ-HĐTV dated October 4, 2021, for its investment feasibility study. This is a key power infrastructure project for EVNCPC, aiming to enhance stable power supply capacity to meet the growing demand of Quy Nhon City and Quy Nhon Port. It also helps offload and support capacity for the existing 110kV Quy Nhon and Quy Nhon 2 Substations, reduce the supply radius of 22kV feeders from nearby 110kV substations, improve voltage quality, and minimize power losses in the regional distribution grid.
This project contributes to gradually developing a smart grid system in Binh Dinh Province, ensuring technical standards, safe operation, and laying the foundation for future smart grid development in line with N-1 reliability criteria.
Project Details:
-
Location: Within Quy Nhon Port area, Hai Cang Ward, Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province
-
Scope:
-
Construction of a new 110kV Quy Nhon Port Substation with a design capacity of 2x63MVA
-
In this phase: installation of one 110/22kV – 63MVA power transformer, with reserved space for a second transformer
-
This is an unmanned digital substation
-
Construction of a 5.825 km 110kV double-circuit transmission line, comprising:
-
1.8 km overhead line
-
4.025 km underground cable line, using single-core, copper-conductor, XLPE-insulated 110kV cables with a 1,200mm² cross-section
-
-
Special Technical Highlights:
-
A majority of the 110kV transmission route is implemented as underground cable within an urban area
-
The line crosses a river, employing high-standard construction techniques, including:
-
Pulling cables through HDPE protective ducts
-
Direct burial at depths of 1.5m – 2m
-
0.5m-deep cable trenches, and
-
Robot-assisted directional drilling, ensuring high technical and safety standards.
-
Ms. Nguyễn Thị Ánh Tuyết – Deputy Director of PCC5 – delivered a speech at the ceremony.
All parties firmly believe that, with PCC5’s construction experience, Package CPC-CangQuyNhon-PC01 of the 110kV Quy Nhon Port Substation and Connection Project will be executed with a commitment to “Safety – Quality – On Schedule.”
