Operation of the 110kV Chanh Hung Substation (Ho Chi Minh City)
The former 110kV Chanh Hung Substation was built many years ago and has since undergone renovation and upgrading from an outdoor substation to a modern indoor GIS (Gas-Insulated Switchgear) substation, in accordance with the standards of Vietnam Electricity (EVN).
The former 110kV Chanh Hung Substation, constructed many years ago, has been renovated and upgraded from an outdoor substation to a modern indoor GIS (Gas-Insulated Switchgear) substation, meeting the standards set by Vietnam Electricity (EVN).
The project has been implemented by PCC5 since the end of Q3/2021, with various components newly built or upgraded to meet the criteria for remote operation and control.
After nearly six months of construction, PCC5 successfully completed the installation of equipment, replacing all existing outdoor medium-voltage equipment and indoor distribution panels with 35 new 22kV switchgear panels. The project also included the installation of a new control and protection system, security system, lighting system, and fire protection system.
The successful energization and operation of the 110kV Chanh Hung Substation plays a vital role in connecting and operating the regional power grid, while significantly enhancing the capacity, safety, stability, and continuity of electricity supply for Ho Chi Minh City. Additionally, the project was completed in time to meet growing electricity demand and improve power quality in Districts 8, 5, and 4 ahead of the peak summer heat period.
